Caracas, May 6 (Prensa Latina) The Venezuelan National Assembly (Parliament) approved a proposal by deputy Cilia Flores to endorse the Supreme Court ruling on the extradition request of terrorist of Cuban origin Luis Posada Carriles, presently hidden in the US.
The proposal made by Cilia Flores, also member of the Fifth Republic Movement (Movimiento V Republica), challenged Washington to explain the current status of Posada Carriles in the US and allow for his extradition.
It condemned the blowing up of a Cuban airliner that left 73 dead in 1976, masterminded by Posada Carriles and his accomplice Orlando Bosch.
´We are well aware that Posada is hidden in the US. His lawyer said it, therefore, we cannot understand how the North American administration is unaware of the presence of the despicable personage there,´ the text contends.
The proposal also rejected the behavior of former Panamanian President Mireya Moscoso, who pardoned Posada Carriles when he was detained for plotting to assassinate Cuban President Fidel Castro Ruz.
