Here are the video clips which I  sent to the students. 

Below are a series of video clips which will help you  understand the period and the class.  The first is of James Earl Jones doing a speech by Frederick Douglass; the second of the John Brown Raid; the third a re-enactiment of Thad Stevens.  The last four are from an excellent documentary on Reconstruction, its democratic promise and eventual betrayal.
