Kerry's Apology; Some Suggestions -- With a Bite

Here are few suggestions on how Senator Kerry could make some apologies to the troops.

Dear members of the US military. I'm sorry my flubbing a joke has given the right wing extremist, chickenhawk hypocrites a chance to distract the media from the real issue. The real issue is the insane war Bush and his cronies lied us into. Yes. I voted for that war and I apologize for that too-- I apologize that I believed the lies, fraudulent claims and distortions that Bush, Cheney and company submitted to the congress as truth.

I'm sorry the Democratic party, with its minority in both houses of congress, has not been able to surmount the failure of the Republican majority to supply you with the gear you need to be safe. I'm sorry we haven't been able to stop the Republicans from taking away the healthcare and family benefits you deserve.

I am sorry that you are stuck with a Commander in Chief who has shown his incompetence, dishonesty, stupidity (which I was actually trying to say) and inability to appoint good leaders. I apologize for you being led by sycophant generals who lie to the public and the press about the troop and supply needs they truly require-- just so they can make that idiot fool Rumsfeld and Bush look good-- or honest.

I am sorry your sincere patriotic, courageous, well intentioned service to your country is overshadowed by the administration's failure to have any plan.

I am sorry that you are unable to do the job you COULD be doing if the generals Bush appointed were honest and competent enough to do their jobs right, rather than playing to political interests and strategies.

I am sorry that we haven't already brought you all home.

I'm sorry you can't listen to talk radio that gives all the perspectives, including left radio, like Air America radio, instead of the right wing garbage like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, which is all your undemocratic Generals allow you to listen to.

I'm sorry that propagandists and spin experts have twisted my words and sent you a message that might have made you feel I am not 100% behind you.
