This week's Marxist IQ will look at Marx's view of capitalism

1. Marx saw capitalism as different from all previous class divided societies in that

    a. it brought freedom and equallty to the people

    b. it exploited the people

     c. it sought to constantly transform rather  than conserve the forces of production

     d.  it sought to preserve and conserve the the forces of production

 2. Marx saw capitalism as similar to all previous class divided societies in that

    a.it was organized at all levels to sustain the wealth and power of the ruling class

    b. it was based on hereditary monarchies

    c.  it was organized around military governments

    d. it was inherently racist

 

3.Marx saw the purpose of capitalism, from beginning to end, as

    a. developing a free and open market

    b. increasing production through  competition

    c.  organizing production for the sole purpose of creating surplus value(profit) for the capitalist class

    d. organizing production on the basis  of use and need

 

  4. Marx contended that capitalists create surplus value(profit)  for their class by

      a. reducing the cost of labor

      b. producing better products for the market place

      c.raising  the living standards of the  people as workers and consumers

      d. ending all government of  regulation of all of their activties

   5. Attempting to clarify Marx's general theory, Lenin contended  that it had three major components which were
