She said what now? Good grief, really? And she wants to tell us how to go forward when she cant even repeat what the tour guide said about a well known historical figure in United States History. And even a 5th grader could tell her she was wrong. Hopefully, that will continue to be the case, anyway. And Palin’s faithful congregation even tried to edit Wikipedia to make her right. Really, people?
Ok, now that I’ve said that, I have to say this. I love making fun of how silly and ridiculous her antics are, and her rhetoric is as much as the next leftist. But as I was listening to left talk radio, I realized that maybe we like it too much. Maybe, thats what she wants.
Everyone who was calling in, Monday, wanted to talk about how and why she was wrong and how dumb it is and how dumb she is, yada yada yada. Fine, whatever. But no one, not ONE PERSON (myself included) calling in even realized what was really being said with her rantings, and Ed Shultz hit it on the head. Sarah Palin has NOTHING to say to working America. Nothing. She is acting. She is preforming for your enjoyment. Your enjoyment, and to give the corporate media something to do cover instead of what matters. She is nothing more than a distraction.
In a slow news week, celebrity gossip reigns on corporate media. And people will criticize those who follow everything these pseudo-royal people do, say, and think. And some people would call that pathetic or sad that they have no other interests. But as far as I can tell, Palin is nothing more than the Paris Hilton of the political arena in this country. Notice I didn’t say politics, since she really hasn’t been involved in politics. She is there to make sure the media doesn't have to cover important things, and she is there to make sure you dont care. That you talk about her instead of the real unemployment rate, or that the “recovery” isn't going well at all, or that profits for corporations are at their highest while so many go without. And she isn't just a distraction for the left either. She is there to be a sort of patriotic cheerleader for low information voters, and they eat it up just like the left does.
We need to ignore her. Laugh, then go on like it never happened. Treat her like the child she is, and she will realize that no one is paying attention, not the left anyway. To be effective, we should be AWARE of what they are watching her do, but why should ANY of us spend ANY time talking about her when we have more important things to do.
