After a federal judge refused a government plea for a stay on her decision overturning the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy which has been used to expel some 14,000 gay servicemembers, the Pentagon is ordering military recruiters to "not to ask service members or applicants about their sexual orientation, to treat the rank and file with dignity and respect, and to maintain good order and discipline," according to the Washington Post.
This week White House spokesperson Robert Gibbs also reiterated the administration's position that it would dismantle the policy, opting for congressional action by the end of the year.
