Spending a few days in Texas selling machine tools....
Texas Report
Spending a few days in Texas
San Antonio and surroundings, Maxwell, New Branfels, etc.
Texas was established by Mexico as a state and pronounced Tay Has
It had it’s first immigration problem when a group of Spanish Conquistadors
Rode in and slaughtered innocent Native Americans in order to settle them
And bring the word of the Lord Jesus – Texas says Jayzuz – Mexico Haysuse
Things quieted a bit under Mexican Rule with the raising of cattle from Spain, until
Rich Plantation owners from the U.S. South needed the rich bottomland of east
Texas to raise cotton (I have pictures of the Audie Murphy Cotton Museum)
Naturally the Plantation owners followed the "guidance of God" and brought their
Rightfully owned slaves to pick the cotton.
All was well until the stupid Mexican government (heathen liberals as they were)
Outlawed slavery. The Plantation owners did what any "right-minded" white
Christian man would do, they Seceded.
The Mexican Government did not appreciated this and sent the army to put down
The rebellion. I just drove past the Alamo, a symbol of free men dying for their beliefs;
the men were a combination of plantation owners, hired mercenaries,
Gamblers, arms salesmen and in total the worst excuse for military planning
Known to man.
Great idea! Martyr yourself so the U.S. government would be persuaded by the Cotton Lobby that they needed another slave state. Bottom line – we got a slave state.
A few years later and a minor war with Mexico behind us the Liberal Communist U.S. government being influenced by godless abolitionists began the process to
Attack the much-needed slave labor in Texas.
And Texas did it again, they seceded.
An interesting by product of bringing African slaves to Texas was when the slaves escaped, they went west and showed up on Mexican owned cattle Estancias in west Texas. Mexicans being godless heathen liberals gave them jobs, paid them money
And began the Black Cowboy.
Today Texas is an interesting blend of massive glass office towers, massive glass
Evangelical churches, hideous strip malls, working poor in trailers spread across the prairies, and
“Gentlemen’s Clubs”. I observed on my way into San Antonio a series of huge Glass
Churches immediately adjacent to the afore mentioned Clubs.
The “San Antonio Gentlemen’s Club” caused me to ponder the following:
The building is both huge and 3 stories high. We all know everything in Texas is bigger, so are the naked women in the club Three Stories Tall?
But, lest ( a word from the King James version ) I forget, there are some good things from Texas:
-
Lynden Banes Johnson who gave us the Civil Rights Act.
-
Ann Richards – A great Democratic Governor
-
Barbara Jordon – First black woman in Congress from a southern state
-
Molly Ivins – Voice of reason in a wilderness
-
Wonderful Hispanic people whose heritage pre-dates the Americanos.
In closing – This Texas, this Tay Hoss, this land has a history of great Democrats and great people, real working people, not the Bushes of Connecticut who along with the other Oil Men , pronounced All Min down here. Texas has been and remains with such greats as George Dubyuh Bush and Rick Perry a bastion of unique and ridiculous pronunciation.
Where else could I visit a large manufacturing plant and be greeted outside the front door by five cats, each with it’s own food bowl. Escorted to the President’s office and introduced to his dog.
Wow!
