Havana, December 21 (AIN).- The Round Table television and radio program was dedicated on Tuesday to the provocations from the new chief of the US Interests Section in Havana and his paid mercenaries.
During the prime time program, members of the panel revealed details of conspiracies organized by Michael Parmly, 54, appointed Chief of the US Interests Section three months ago, replacing James Cason.
On International Human Rights Day on December 10, Parmly invited several 'dissidents' on the US payroll to his residence in Havana, delivering a speech full of lies and offenses against the Cuban Revolution. The foreign press was also invited.
Those attending received copies of the speech delivered by George W. Bush during the inaugural ceremony of his second term as US President, a booklet with US Government points of view and copies of 'El Nuevo Heraldo' a daily Spanish language newspaper published in Miami.
Parmly showed his aggressiveness by slandering Cuban government officials.
He also reiterated old unfounded accusations regarding human rights and ignored the cruel economic, commercial and financial blockade that his country enforces against Cuba for the past 46 years.
After making a trip to Miami at the end of November, where he met with representatives of right wing anti-Cuban groups, Parmly came back to Cuba breathing fire.
Paradoxically, the diplomat bypassed the misery and lack of resources that tens of millions of people in the US are having to deal with as a consequence of the systematic violation of their most basic rights. A classic example was evident to the world after hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast.
The analysts on The Round Table informed the audience about Parmly's service record in Europe, Eastern Asia, and especially Afghanistan since the year 2000, where human rights violations and torture by the US occupation forces are commonplace.
Since his arrival to Cuba, Parmly has carried out provocative actions including the distribution of printed materials, press conferences, videoconferences and several subversive speeches, during which he announced that his mission is to lay the foundation for a change of Government in Cuba.
The panelists affirmed that the illegal actions by the US Interests Section in Havana, tripled during the year 2005, in order to fulfill the annexation plans of the US government, and quoted specific actions by James Cason, the previous chief diplomat, and other officials.
The improper use of the diplomatic pouch; the transmission of radio and TV propaganda of a destabilizing nature; and the financing of internal subversion by means of tens of millions of dollars in specially allocated funds, form part of the means used.
A long list of supplies handed over by the US Interests Section to its paid collaborators for their counterrevolutionary actions throughout the year was also mentioned.
The explicit objectives of the Bush Administration for Cuba were presented publicly in May 2004 in the form of a 450-page report with a detailed strategy to destroy the Cuban Revolution, suppress social benefits and install a government that will be favorable to US hegemonic interests.
At the end of The Round Table, a statement made Tuesday by US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was quoted. The high ranking official made reference to the implementation during 2006 of new plans to accelerate the demise of the Cuban Revolution.
The Spanish EFE news agency quoted Rice as saying that the time for change in Cuba has arrived and emphasized that Washington will be stepping up the pressure
