Ha Noi (VNA) - On the occasion of the 10th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the Party Central Committee has received messages of congratulation from many Communist parties, workers parties and political organisations from around the world.

The congratulatory message from the French Communist Party said, 'The Communist Party of Viet Nam is shouldering highly important tasks toward the country's development.

'The relationship between French and Vietnamese Communists was established in 1920. Later on, victorious struggles for peace and independence further deepened the close bond between the French and Vietnamese parties.'

Regular and open relations between the two parties need to be renewed, the French Party message said.

'We're facing many challenges and problems that have never before occurred in our societies, in the world and in our time. To further promote exchanges between our two parties will respond to the struggle of all revolutionaries and Communists in the 21st century.

'The deepening relationship between the Communist parties of Viet Nam and France corresponds to the desire to further expand relations between the two nations. The multifaceted and long term co-operation between France and Viet Nam will not only benefit the peoples of the two countries but also the interests of peace, co-operation and development in the world.'

The 10th National Party Congress, the French message concluded, was a milestone and an occasion for the Party to reiterate its orientations and its determination to implement objectives as well as open new visions for the 21st century.

The message from the Japanese Communist Party stated, 'The Congress will further contribute to the country's development and to peace and social progress in Asia and the world.

'The many years of long and heroic struggle for independence of the Vietnamese people and the victory in that struggle has greatly contributed to peace in Asia and the world today. In the condition of an independent Viet Nam, the Communist Party of Viet Nam, in the role of a ruling party, has overcome many difficulties and exerted great efforts to build the country and promote the cause of doi moi (renewal) in the past 20 years. The Communist Party of Viet Nam is advancing on the chosen path of building socialism through the market economy. This is a new discovery in the history of mankind.'

The Communist Party of India extended 'warmest fraternal greetings to the leadership and delegates to the 10th Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.'

'The Communist Party of India notes with great satisfaction the initiatives taken by your Party to mobilise the entire people of Viet Nam in building a strong economy with its own specificities. Under the mature leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam the country has moved from a command economy to a socialist market economy. This renovation process increased tremendously the all round potential of Viet Nam which has demonstrated in the increase of GDP growth.

'We are quite confident that the 10th Congress which will take stock of past activities on all fronts and will adopt its five-year socio-economic targets and tasks and building the party to meet the requirements of present developments in Viet Nam.

'We believe that the 10th Congress of CPV will be an important event in charting out its new course on the ongoing socialist constructions and as well as for further strengthening the Party and enhance its prestige in the international Communist movement.'

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) conveyed its warm fraternal greetings to all the delegates attending the 10th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and through them to its entire membership.

'The Communists in Viet Nam have a glorious history of struggle and sacrifices. In the last few years the government of Viet Nam under the leadership and guidance of the Communist Party of Viet Nam has undertaken various measures to cope with the new challenges. We are sure that these measures are bearing fruit and the socialist system is getting further strengthened,' the message said.

'Once again, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) we convey our warm fraternal greetings to the 10th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam. We are confident that this congress will be able to work out the correct tactics to further consolidate and advance the socialist gains.

'The CPI (M) and the Communist Party of Viet Nam have a long association of friendship and understanding. There are strong emotive bonds that continuously strengthen the relations between our parties. We are certain that this mutual trust and bonds of friendship will get further strengthened in the days ahead.'

The Communist Party USA sent 'warm revolutionary greetings to the delegates and members of the Communist Party of Viet Nam on the occasion of your 10th National Party Congress. We wish you much success in your deliberations at this important event.'

'We applaud the leadership your Party has provided in social, political and economic achievements for the people of Viet Nam. We congratulate you on your efforts to eradicate poverty, hunger and disease in spite of the lingering affects of imperialist wars on your soil, affects such as environmental destruction, land mines and Agent Orange that bring debilitation to generations long after the war has ended.'

'In the spirit of co-operation and friendship, we extend our warmest solidarity to you and to the people of your great country.

'We look forward to deepening our co-operation with you and we renew our common commitment to peace, justice and socialism. Long live the friendship between the communist party of Viet Nam and the Communist Party USA.'

The message of the Russian Communist Party (RCP) said 'Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam has successfully carried out adopted policies. The industrious Vietnamese people have created favourable conditions for progress. The CPV has displayed a creative and principled approach to solving important and sophisticated problems, while remaining persistent in its socialist ideology.'

'The RCP and the CPV have a relationship based on friendship and solidarity. We believe that our principles of internationalism, mutual assistance and solidarity remain as significant now as they once were. Only together, side by side, can we fight forces hostile to Communism as well as imperialistic attacks. We believe that the relationship between our two parties will continue to consolidate and develop.'

The Portuguese Communist Party said: 'The Tenth Party Congress and the objectives your congress was striving towards, given the present international situation, constitute something significant. The Vietnamese people's history of struggle against colonialism and American occupation would live on forever in the minds of people struggling for peace, sovereignty, freedom and social progress, for those struggling against aggression, interference and for the fight to self-determination.

'The Vietnamese people's victories and examples of revolutionary determination and courage, together with their social-economic development motivated by a determination to build a socialist society in Viet Nam, will continue to inspire Communists and revolutionaries the world over. At the same time, the vigorous social and economic development recorded in Viet Nam, given the many difficulties and challenges that had to be surmounted, consolidates our confidence in the future of socialism in Viet Nam,' the message said.

The Communist Party of Brazil also sent a message saying: 'We have with interest recorded the great achievements made by your Party in leading the country forwards in national development. It was your past victories for national independence and your choice to advance towards socialism that have sown the seeds for your present-day successes. Under the leadership of the CPV, headed by the esteemed President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese people conducted a difficult and decades-long struggle against imperialist domination and occupation. The courageous Vietnamese people's past struggles continue to serve as a great source of aspiration for young people the world over. We are very impressed by the efforts exerted by the Vietnamese people and Communists in building socialism in line with national development. The renewal process in Viet Nam has helped the country attain great achievements in modernisation, industrialisation and international integration.'

The chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) also sent a letter of congratulations: 'On behalf of the Palestinian people, the PLO Executive Committee, the Palestinian Authority and myself, I am glad to send you, the entire leadership and members of the CPV and the entire Vietnamese people my most sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 10th National Congress of the Vieät Nam Communist Party – a political party that has always held up the flag of struggle for freedom, peace and development.

'We are proud of our friendship and relationship, and once again reaffirm our determination to strengthen ties and solidarity for the mutual benefit of both our nations.'
